A pioneering female artist, DJ Gizelle has been spinning tunes on the London underground party scene ever since the late 80s, when she first experienced the explosion of ‘acid house’ dance music.
She has been part of the Stay Up Forever family since the mid 90s and made her mark as resident d.j. for the legendary ‘Immersion Sound System’ playing every weekend on the free party scene in London. It was at this time that she began producing under the guise of ‘Rebel Yelle’ for ‘Stay Up Forever’, followed by more collaborations on other labels.
Gizelle’s d.j. sound is influenced by a broad range of dance music, which proves her to be one of the most versatile d.j.s on the scene. She plays an eclectic mix of strong dance floor tunes and is a pioneer d.j. in her own right. As well as playing techno and ‘acid’, she also loves playing old skool acid house classics, funky beats and wonky sounds. Her mission has taken her through two decades of d.j.ing to crowds at a whole range of underground parties, warehouse raves, festivals and clubs worldwide.
